About Us

Specialized Offender Services (SOS) is a mission-driven, trauma-informed mental health practice and an approved provider through the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB). We provide ethical, evidence-based, offense-specific treatment in partnership with criminal justice agencies to promote accountability, growth, and community safety.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Therapist (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LP, or equivalent) who is SOMB Approved (Associate or Full) or actively pursuing SOMB approval. This role focuses on facilitating adult group treatment sessions in compliance with SOMB Standards.

Therapists join SOS on a 90-day contractor basis with competitive pay and the opportunity to transition into a salaried position after successful completion.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate SOMB-compliant group therapy sessions (primary focus)
  • Provide individual therapy as needed
  • Conduct or assist with offense-specific evaluations and risk assessments
  • Develop and update treatment plans consistent with SOMB standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Collaborate with probation/parole officers, caseworkers, and MDT partners
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, MFT, or related field
  • Active Colorado license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LP, or equivalent)
  • SOMB Approved Provider (Associate or Full) or actively pursuing approval
  • Strong group facilitation and documentation skills
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, evidence-based practice

Preferred: Experience with evaluations, motivational interviewing, CBT/relapse prevention, or working with mandated clients.
